Surgery 111/211 A-C Application

Surgery 111/211 is a three quarter series designed to give students the theoretical and practical training they need to take the National Registry certification exam and become certified as EMT-Basics. The class covers the basic physiology behind many medical and traumatic scenarios, as well as the principles of assessment and emergency treatment that would be performed in the field. Practical skills range from CPR to the use of an Automated External Defibrillator, to bandaging and splinting, spinal immobilization, and administration of certain medications. Applicants do not need to have worked previously in emergency medical services to apply.

All Stanford students, both undergraduate and graduate, may apply for the class. In addition other Stanford affiliates (faculty or staff) may also apply and will be considered on an individual basis. We are unfortunately unable to consider any applicants who are not currently affiliated with Stanford. Enrollment in the course is not guaranteed and is subject to course director approval.
